Care For Carers

Caring for a loved one is important work. Some days caring brings great joy, but some days it can be lonely, challenging and a little overwhelming. Through therapy I offer support so that you can reach a better understanding of your situation and put yourself in a better place to make the right choices for you when faced with difficulties. Importantly, you can learn to take care of yourself and therefore be in a better place to continue to provide care to your loved one to the best of your ability.

  • Being a carer can leave you feeling overwhelmed by the responsibility you have by being a carer
  • Emotional, anxious, stressed or depressed.
  • Guilty and resentful for thinking about yourself or putting yourself first.
  • Totally isolated – totally alone.

If one or more of these are an issue to you then a calm structured discussion with a professional therapist can help you to cope daily.

Choose from single sessions, or we can arrange a series of six or twelve therapy sessions to suit your needs. Feel free to use the link below or contact us if you would like to discuss your therapy.

A carer holds the hand of an elderly gentleman, it shows the stresses that could lead to the carer needing care for carers therapy.
A nurse in full PPE looks at the camera. She seems stressed and would be a good candidate for a care for carers therapy session.

The pandemic is behind most people, but for some individuals it is still ongoing. Our carers gave everything and lived a nightmare for months at a time. Our care for carers therapy package is designed to help those who helped all of us in the most unimaginable circumstance.

Perhaps there was just one event that affected you. Or maybe the extended stress of the past few years is now coming to the fore. It could simply be that the pressure to perform in the care sector everyday has taken its toll. Care for carers does not simply mean those in a hospital, some of the greatest sacrifices were made by care home staff who had to leave their family homes to care for those in their facilities.

Talking about the experiences of the past few years and addressing any issues that stem from there is healthy. We acknowledge the toll on mental health that something like the pandemic will take and are here to care for carers.

I am here to talk, listen and help. I have been a therapist for over 30 years and helped many people through all kinds of difficulties. It is, sadly, now becoming apparent that the pandemic has taken a toll on mental heath within the care sector. As such, I now offer the care for carers therapy package to help those who answered the call. No one was untouched by COVID-19, but no one gave as much as carers and it is important to me that we now support those individuals.
